ParentEve - Scheduling Software for Parents Evenings

"This program is fantastic. It has saved me so much time and effort planning my annual parents evening. It is simple to use even for those with basic computer skills."

- Joyce Green, Head of Year 9,
Ranelagh School, Bracknell, Berkshire.

This screenshot shows the updated user interface for the ParentEve 3 major release. The icons on the toolbar are the most noticeable change; the speed and fluidity of the graphics has been increased as well so the application feels faster.

ParentEve 2.3.0 running under Linux, showing the new look of the Linux version in the 2.3 major release. The look and feel of the Windows version has not changed, it still uses the standard Microsoft style (see screenshots below).

The program is showing the new "Edit Scoring" window which allows you to alter the maximum times which you are prepared to let people wait. This allows the optimiser to find schedules which fit your school's policy.

ParentEve 2.2.5 running under Windows, showing the new enhanced overview pane. The time is printed hourly across the top and thicker vertical bars are used to show the hour marks.

Down the side of the window, the number of appointments per person is printed next to their name to make it easier to manually balance the load on individual people.

Note also that the yellow arrow is greyed out - ParentEve will now do this when there are no unbooked appointments and all requests have been satisfied. Also new is the "Report" menu which first appeared in ParentEve 2.2.1 and allows you to report on teachers, parents or pupils who have no appointments.

Screenshot of ParentEve 2.1.0 running under Windows. The main pane is showing an overview of a parents evening. The appointments for the teachers are shown; blue squares show a booked appointment, white squares show a free time slot and red squares show a booked appointment which has too long a gap before it. This allows users to easily see where a schedule still needs improving.

The tree on the left is showing details of the pupils in a particular tutor group and a small yellow tooltip window on the right is showing information about the red appointment square that the mouse is currently pointing to.

Optimising a schedule in ParentEve 2.1.0 running under Windows. The overview area shows some teachers at the top and many parents below; you can see the program leaving five-minute gaps where it can so that parents have time to get from one appointment to the next.

The tree on the left is showing details of the parents and is highlighting one particular parent's pupil.

Screenshot of an older version of ParentEve (version 2.0.2) running under Linux. The look and feel is the same as the Microsoft Windows version; the thicker black bars on the overview pane were standard for the 2.0 series on both Windows and Linux. The 2.0 series did not have data import and so the "Import" menu is absent.
