LicensingParentEve is licensed in two main ways:
The software uses unlock codes to verify that you are legally licensed to use the product. When you download the software, it will not have an unlock code and so it will be in demo mode. In demo mode you will only be able to define five teachers, five parents and five pupils. However, apart fron that restriction the full functionality of the software will be available to you. You will be able to evaluate how to use the software and whether you wish to make use of it. Registering a Parents EveningIf you wish to use the software to organise a parents evening, you will need to obtain an unlock code from us. Each standard unlock code allows you to organise one parents evening, whereas a Pro unlock code allows you to organise as many evenings as you like for a period of one year. For each unlock code required you will need to supply the following information:

Importing the Unlock CodeTo import the unlock code into your demo copy of ParentEve, all you need to do is open the unlock code entry window by selecting "Enter Unlock Code" from the Action menu. Simply copy and paste the entire email into this window and press "OK". The software will extract and store your unlock code, and enable you to define as many teachers, parents and pupils as you want. A "Pro" unlock code also allows you to reuse old expired event files - for example, you can use last year's Year 8 file to organise this year's Year 9 parents' evening and all your parents and pupils will already be present and correct. Frequently Asked QuestionsI want to use a single-event code, how far in advance can I register?As far in advance as you like. Your unlock code will specify when your parents evening will actually take place and you may use the software as much as you like up until that date. What does the software do with the registration information?The name of your school, the date and description of your parents evening are all printed on your printouts. All handouts for parents will have this information on. What if I need to change the date of a registered event?For ParentEve Pro, simply edit the event details and amend the date. If you are using a single-event code, then unfortunately in this case you will need to pay for another unlock code, so please make sure that any dates you register are unlikely to change. I'm a new customer so I have no old files to relicense. Is there an easier way to import unlock codes?Yes, for new customers we will usually issue an empty event file which already contains your unlock code. This means you will be ready to go immediately without having to deal with unlock codes. There's a staff list on our school's website, can you import that for us?Yes, we offer a free service to registered customers where we can provide your initial event file pre-populated with a staff list. If your school's website does not provide one then simply email it in with your order and we will do the rest. You will then get an unlocked event file with all your staff pre-populated. |
